Network marketing principles are universal: you build relationships and you recruit. But network marketing online includes a few different maneuvers than the traditional belly-to-belly approach (offline network marketing). And although you have the potential to reach thousands, if not millions, of people online, you still have to get these perfect strangers to the relationship starting point with you. And that’s why I have included the five absolute must-do steps to network marketing online (correctly). Let’s delve in, shall we?
5 Network Marketing Online Fundamentals
1) Have A System In Place
This is the single most important step to take if you want to have any chance of successfully network marketing online. One free online dictionary defines a system as a network of structures and channels, as for communication, travel, or distribution.
Having a system in place, for the purposes of network marketing, takes a potential prospect from the point of first contact with you through a series of qualifiers and disqualifiers of wanting to pursue a relationship with you, to eventually wanting to work with you. It acts as a way for you to leverage your successful actions, and repeat those successes over and over again. A good online system should have the following traits. Customizable capture pages that brand you and collect a lead’s contact information with their permission. An automatic communication platform such as an email autoresponder that allows you to keep your brand in front of a lead. Marketing training to increase your marketing skills online to generate those leads. A sales funnel to monetize your leads. And a way to naturally promote your primary opportunity to your leads.
2) Know How To Generate Traffic to Your System
Once you have a system in place, your focus can be everything marketing online. Learn, learn, learn marketing. Because now it is essential to target your market, in this case other network marketers, and drive them through your system. And for network marketing online, the best marketer wins. There are many ways to generate traffic to your system. Article marketing, video marketing, blogging, social media marketing, and pay per click advertising are just a few. But you will only want to pick one of these online methods and master it. Based on your current skill sets, budget, and overall passions, you will have to decide the best one for you.
3) Convert That Traffic Into Leads
Once you are getting traffic consistently going to your online system, you can focus on converting them into leads. It is initially done with a capture page geared towards network marketing. If you notice that you are generating lots of traffic, but have a low conversion rate, it’s time to pay attention to tracking and split testing. Sometimes only minor adjustments are needed to get that traffic opting in to your capture page. Split testing tests 2 or more slightly different capture pages based on the amount of conversions each one gets within one river of traffic. Testing and tracking can significantly increase your lead conversion rates.
4) Enroll Those Leads Into A Funded Proposal
First let’s familiarize ourselves with affiliate programs, because these are essential in a funded proposal. Affiliate products are products that a network marketer online has the right to promote in exchange for a percentage of the sale price. So the funded proposal, also known as a sales funnel is a funnel of promoted products within the system that leads have access to purchase. Network marketing online would be virtually impossible to sustain without the funded proposal. A system that incorporates valuable affiliate products creates a win-win situation for everyone by providing quality products to a lead that will help further their own ventures as well as providing an avenue of income to the network marketer.
And the funded proposal itself should be an affiliate product, as leads enroll for membership as a solution to their own problems… which usually are lack a leads and lack of money.
By enrolling leads into a funded proposal, you now have various streams of income and another way to unobtrusively promote your primary business to those leads, or new prospects.
5) Sponsor Distributors Into Your Primary Company
The last fundamental to network marketing online is the golden trophy. It’s the reason a network marketer came online in the first place. Sponsoring distributors into your primary company. By following the first 4 fundamentals, you now have broken down barriers with your new prospects. You have eliminated objections. And you have established yourself in this new relationship as someone they can trust and provide answers to their problems and as someone who can help them succeed. You can have an opportunity presentation recorded online working day and night for you, but the easiest and fastest way to sponsor anyone is to follow up with personal contact, phone, or email. Because people join people in network marketing, not companies. They join the person they have a trusting and strong relationship with. And that’s what network marketing online is all about. Getting perfect strangers to that established relationship with you.
