5 Most Outlandish Memories of Living in NYC
Welcome back. Have you signed up for Adam's Free Training Newsletter? You should do that now.
I was just reflecting back on the past 2 years since I moved to NYC, and thought…”Hey! I’ve seen some pretty interesting ..uh…stuff… since I’ve lived here.” Although NY’ers probably wouldn’t blink an eye from these somewhat everyday occurrences, maybe you other guys still might get a laugh. So here’s my 5 Most Outlandish Memories so far of living in NY:
1) Subway Car Pee’er:
A guy started peeing in the subway car right beside Mel and I. When we moved away, he followed us, yelled at us, and talked smack like it was wrong for us to try and get out of the way of the splatters. We got off at the next stop.
2) Jogging Jubblie Jumbler:
In the middle of the highly populated Union Square afternoon, we saw a shirtless jogger with his leg hiked up on a fence, hand down his little running shorts, ferociously shaking/scratching/attacking his jubblies. What’s worse is that we made eye contact. The look on his face haunts me to this day. That’s when I took Mel’s advice to use hand Sanitizer after touching ANYTHING in the NYC public.
Walking in SOHO (South of Houston St <pronounced ‘How-stun’>) through the set of the movie “Cloverfield”. Our first thoughts were scary when we saw all the building rubble in the street. But then a crew member explained they were shooting a movie. He should have said they were shooting a really BAD movie.
4) Celebrate! Celebrate! Dance to the Music!:
My block around midnight when Obama took the Presidency. About 2 hrs of nonstop Shouts of rejoice, pots and pans banging, and music playing in the streets. It was a pretty cool thing to witness.
5) Is Someone Gonna Put That Out?:
Oh yeah, and I saw a car catch fire across the street from where I was working in Brooklyn. Luckily it didn’t blow up and no one was injured. But the car was thrashed by the time they put it out.
There’s tons more that I’m probably not thinking of right now, so…
